1. WHAT'S A TEST?

We consider that a test has been performed if and only if:

  • You send a new email to your testing address
  • You open the result page
  • Our system successfully generates and returns the result page

If you open the same result page multiple times without sending a new email, it will be counted as a single test only.

If we do not receive your email message, no test will be counted.

If you send us an email but do not open the result page, no test will be deducted from your account.

2. SUBSCRIPTION USAGE AND TEST QUOTAS

Mail-tester operates on a monthly subscription model.

Each subscription plan includes a fixed number of email tests per billing cycle.

Tests are consumed when a valid test result is generated.

The monthly quota:

  • Applies to both web interface tests and API usage
  • Resets automatically at the start of each billing cycle
  • Does not roll over to the next billing cycle

Once the monthly quota is exhausted, additional tests cannot be performed until:

  • The next billing cycle begins, or
  • The user upgrades to a higher subscription plan.

3. LEGACY CREDITS

Some existing users may still have legacy credit balances purchased under the previous pricing model.

For those users:

  • Previously purchased credits remain usable
  • Credits do not expire
  • Credits may only be used by accounts that do not have an active subscription

Users cannot have both an active subscription and a credit balance used simultaneously.

Legacy credits will be phased out over time.

4. PAYMENT SYSTEM

New subscriptions are processed through Stripe using secure recurring billing.

We accept major credit and debit cards through Stripe.

Mail-tester does not store your full payment card information on its servers.

Stripe handles all payment processing securely in accordance with industry standards.

5. BILLING AND RENEWAL

Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing cycle unless canceled.

Billing cycles are based on the subscription start date, not calendar months.

Example: If a subscription starts on January 14, the billing cycle renews on February 14.

Users may cancel their subscription at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing cycle.

6. FAILED PAYMENTS

If a recurring payment fails, a grace period may apply during which the user may update their payment method.

If payment is not successfully processed after the grace period, the subscription may be suspended until payment is resolved.

7. REFUND POLICY

Mail-tester provides free tests so users can evaluate the service before purchasing a subscription.

Because of this evaluation opportunity, all purchases and subscription payments are considered final, and refunds are not provided.
